Our signature programs
S.H.E. Suite
S.H.E. Suite Luxury Pantry & Resource Hub– is more than a place to pick up groceries—it’s a sanctuary for growth, dignity, and transformation. Our mission is to feed 500 families this year and empower them through professional development, counseling, and access to resources provided through socioeconomic partnerships.
For just $94 a week, we provide a family of four with nutritious groceries and essential household items—removing barriers and allowing them to focus on healing, working, and thriving.

S.H.E. – The Desire to THRIVE
Launched in May 2023, S.H.E. is a transformative program designed to connect women to county-led resources, financial education, and emotional intelligence tools that lead to economic succession and legacy-building. In partnership with Employ Prince George’s, this initiative prepares women for long-term financial, social, and emotional success.
Key Objectives Include:
- Connecting women to programs that support entrepreneurship, business incorporation, licensing, and financial planning
- Offering personal and household finance education covering budgeting, credit, savings, investment, home buying, and group economics
- Empowering women through workshops and peer-to-peer sessions that address:
• Emotional Intelligence
• Critical Thinking
• Relationship Building
• Stress Management
• Body Language & The Art of Negotiation
LEGACY INITIATIVE
MECD is proud to lead the Crown Her County campaign, calling for formal recognition of April as Black Women’s History Month in Prince George’s County and across the State of Maryland.
This historic advocacy effort includes:
- Formal proclamation & petition presentation
- Community-wide celebrations, forums & events
- The Legacy Lounge Experience
- Black Women’s Honors & Leadership Awards
- Collective action from businesses, sororities, and public officials

Our Legacy Tribute Scholarship Program allows individuals and families to honor a loved one, mentor, or community hero by making a meaningful donation in their name.
Each Legacy Tribute contributes directly to scholarships and resource grants for women and families working to change their economic future, access education, and build sustainable wealth. Through this program, your honoree’s spirit of leadership, compassion, and empowerment will continue to thrive within our community initiatives.
